IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS about building a Timberland Home or new home construction, review our list of frequently asked questions for essential information. For further information, do not hesitate to contact one of our home building professionals.

Q: Do you build homes over basements or as a two-story design?
A: Yes. The Timberland system works well for two-story homes. On-site, we use a crane to lift the upper floor into place. We have been doing this since 1973, so we've had lots of practice.

Q: Do you have land available?
A: We don't sell land. We specialize in building homes for people who already have their lot.

Q: Are your homes backed by any kind of warranty?
A: We offer the best warranty in the business — a 15-year limited structural warranty. We have built over 2,500 homes and have earned an excellent reputation for standing behind our product.

Q: Can I finance one of your homes?
A: Yes, our homes qualify for all the same great programs that a site-built home does! We even have a list of approved lenders familiar with our contract terms, who can make this aspect of building a new home very easy to accomplish.

Q: I've never done something like this before. How do I get the necessary permits?
A: Timberland Homes provides all the "home" permits through the State of Washington and provides engineered drawings for the foundation, which are needed to secure your site permit. We can guide you through the process in your local jurisdiction.

Q: In what areas do you deliver and complete your homes?
A: We operate throughout Washington, southeast Alaska, northern Idaho, and northern Oregon.

Q: Can I save money buying a Timberland Home?
A: Because our homes are built at our Auburn Construction Center, you receive the benefits of the economy of scale and proven relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. We also give you a guaranteed price, once we have agreed on a plan. We think you will find our homes to be highly competitive cost-wise, as well as saving you time and stress.

Q: How long does it take to complete a Timberland Home?
A: In most cases, you can move into your new Timberland home months earier than a conventional construction home. Our biggest time savings comes from being able to do both the site and foundation work while the home is being constructed.

Q: Can I customize my home or add upgrades?
A: Yes, we go out of our way to get you exactly the home you want. The process starts with our plans and our Display Village, where we can exchange ideas and choose the features, finishes and fixtures that are just right for you.

Q: Will a Timberland Home appreciate like a site-built home?
A: Our homes appreciate as other site-built homes in the neighborhood. This provides our customers with an excellent building alternative and results in similar appreciation in value over the years.
